A Little Help

A couple weeks back, the families at Mr. O's daycare, EC3, had an opportunity to do a small part to help orphaned children in Haiti.

Families spent a week collecting basic clothes and hygiene items, and on Feb. 15, we shipped about 9 packed boxes to Miami for distribution.

All in all, the families collected:
• 241 pairs of socks
• 430 pairs of underwear
• 38 pairs of shoes and sandals
• 273 toothbrushes
• 114 tubes of toothpaste
• 142 bars of soap
• 38 bottles of hand sanitizer
• 92 bottles of shampoo
• 53 boxes of baby wipes
• 16 boxes of tissues
• 214 batteries

I made it on TV, too. But that's not the important part.

In the life of a near-three year old, could any one event pack more trauma and heartache than a fire truck being hit by a choo-choo train?

We can only hope the answer to that is no.
