In a post a while back, I used the word "numbnut." And while for the life of me I can't find the post now, I do remember doing it and receiving a reaction of surprise from Mr. O's aunt at the thought of Mr. O's grandparents reading the word.
Aghast, they will be!
Oh well, I'm not alone in thinking the word offers some good fun and far too many good opportunities to use it.

The first time--not really aghast, but bemused at what was perceived as a temporary lapse into bad taste. To bring it up again--now I'm concerned. Or is this one of those words (like "this really s---s") that people use without considering the implications of their origins?
